Ms. Boles has made great strides for VAAA advocacy efforts by increasing participation of the annual “Senior Power Day” event, making it one of the largest senior events in the State. In 2005, Governor Jennifer Granholm attended this event, resulting in the highest attendance in the history of Senior Power Day – a statistic that held until the 2018 Senior Power Day reported the most successful SPD effort to date! The 2018 Senior Power Day was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest senior event in the country.

Older Michiganian’s Day is held in early June in Lansing on the east lawn of Capitol Building. This annual event is held every year bringing together hundreds of seniors, aging service providers, and senior advocates. Ms. Boles has been active in this event, participating for    years.
